Semester 1
Mondays - Classes are held at SFX.
Please contact SFX for more information.
The discipline of sociology enables understanding of social behaviour. Some questions to be explored: What is a social construct? How do we live today? How determined is social life? Does the individual make a difference? How is social order possible? This course tries to make sense of these questions and will review comparative, historical, demographic, experimental, and ethnographic methods. Other social concepts that will be explored include ethnocentrism, social networks, community, unanticipated consequences, social capital, race, class, and gender.
